What is the Amacite citation machine?

Amacite is a free citation generator that assists you in automatically generating APA, MLA and Chicago style citations by looking up book information such as authors, publishing year and company from a title or ISBN by querying the Amazon Products API.

This makes Amacite an extremely convenient tool for quickly generating works cited pages for your bibliographies. Unlike the popular Son of Citation Machine, Amacite does not require that you put in any information other than the book title or ISBN manually. It is easier and faster to use than any other citation machine.

What formats are supported by this citation generator?

The Amacite citation builder supports the following formats:

  • APA Style Citations
  • MLA Style Citations
  • Chicago Style Citations
  • Turabian Style Citations

How do I use this citation maker to generate citations for my bibliographies?

It is very easy to use our free citation machine. You can either search for existing APA, MLA and Chicago formatted citations that previous users have generated or you can generate a new citation. Because this site functions much like a wiki, our collection of pre generated citations are growing on a daily basis as users cite new books.

When using the citation machine to generate a new citation for your works cited page, simply enter the book title or ISBN number under the generate new citation page. As you enter the information Amacite will automatically pull up matching citations and books. If you see an existing citation for the book that you wish to cite, simply click view citation.

If you do not see a pre-existing citation for a book that you are referencing in your APA, MLA or Chicago style paper, then simply click the "use book for citation" link. Amacite will then query Amazon for all the information necessary to generate your citation. Verify that all of the information entered into the form is correct and then click the generate citation button.

Amacite speeds up the process of creating a proper works cited, so that you can focus more on writing your paper and less on creating the proper references.
